Traveling with Hannah Streefkerk in Norway, both for participating FjellFestival Kunst i Natur, Romsdal, was a great experience: Norway is so strong and powerful; what can one possible add to that? I decided to make a square, made of bright blue pots.
And of course I made photo’s….
Working outside is great; not only in nature; there where new buildings are ‘born’ is a lot to explore. The square, perfect form, now as a concrete floor; I used elements available at the spot: iron, plastic, rubber, sun, metal triangles etc. This square had a frame, which gives it space, filled with or without figures. Methaphor for our framed lives…….?
Thanks crew of Dijkstra Draisma!
2010. In June 2010 I travelled with Hannah Streefkerk, friend and also artist to Switzerland. We stayed several days in Weisstannen, a very Swiss village near Sargans. For me a place with many memories. It was great Hannah accompanied me. It rained and rained and there was more rain…. There, in this perfect landscape, with so many different greens tints, it was almost natural to investigate what a strange red item would bring about. Thanks Hannah, for the wonderful and inspiring days!
I enjoyed this work very much and was curious to find out how form as an installation would work in an inside space related to an outside space. I made forms of elements used for electricity cables deep down in buildings. In my work the elements are visible and present. Now, they are still present, but not visible. Thanks, Sitomatic for being able to use your material….
Going outside: what happens when you add colour? And form?
Going outside in Drenthe…..
In september with friends a weekend at Schiermonnikoog; with a calm and quiet sunday…..
In oktober together with Hannah a cold and rainy day at Schier…..
