Squares and space…..
A good start of 2011 was finishing a new litho. Although a new technique for me, I discovered a subtle expression.
Since some years one of our december jobs is designing and printing the ‘New Year Good Wishes-card’ for Hein Braaksma and Frank de Vries. Every year a new motto; this year: ‘veel moed en schoonheid in 2011′. Hans (my partner) is great in silk-screen; it is every time a very nice job to do. Here an impression of a part of the 200 cards!
Squares…..
Square: the perfection of this form intrigues me. I think it is interesting to find out if it is possible to accomplish a feeling of ‘space’ through line and colour. To work with silkscreen is great: transparent colours, in layers form new lines and new colours, it is great to work and play with…..
The square in my weaving work: what shows more space? Just warp and weft as colourlines? I added paint lines; and although there are more lines now, the colours and different materials act.
Something completely different: my first litho!
